My Health Journey: Overcoming Histamine Intolerance, Mold Toxicity, and Parasites

My Health Journey: Overcoming Histamine Intolerance, Mold Toxicity, and Parasites

Most people wake up with a hangover after a night out. I woke up with swollen eyes, a full-body rash, and one of the worst hangovers imaginable. This was the beginning of my health journey—a journey that would lead me to uncover hidden health issues and transform my life.

The First Signs: Histamine Intolerance

After that night, I began noticing my body reacting poorly to foods I once considered healthy: bone broth, meats, leftovers, avocados, sauerkraut, and certain supplements. I felt bloated, fatigued, and my skin flared up with eczema and rashes. Determined to find answers, I took Dr. Jolene Brighten's hormone quiz and later discovered Dr. Ben Lynch's book Dirty Genes. The Dirty Genes Quiz revealed a mutation in my DAO gene, responsible for breaking down histamine.

Dr. Lynch's histamine protocol focuses on supporting the body's ability to process histamine. Key components include:

  • Supporting DAO activity: Supplementing with nutrients like vitamin B6, vitamin C, and copper to enhance DAO enzyme function.

  • Avoiding histamine-rich foods: Eliminating aged cheeses, fermented foods, alcohol (especially red wine and champagne), leftovers, avocados, bone broth and night shades.

  • Optimizing gut health: Addressing gut dysbiosis and ensuring proper digestion and absorption.

  • Managing stress: Implementing stress-reduction techniques to lower histamine levels.

  • Avoiding HIIT: incorporating walking after meals, lifting weights slowly and somatic exercises.

It took me a while to notice changes. My gut health was so poor. Stay positive and stay consistent, I promise you will start to notice subtle shifts. After my eczema cleared, I would test certain foods to see if it would come back and that’s how I knew if I was ready to introduce it back into my diet. Overall I would say this took about 6 months. (See below the supplements I utilized).

The Next Challenge: Mold Toxicity and Parasites

About a year later, new symptoms emerged: constipation (only one bowel movement per week), urinary urgency, severe bloating, and stomach pains. Every food I ate seemed to make me feel worse. An amazing chiropractor introduced me to Applied Kinesiology, revealing mold toxicity and parasite issues.

I began a protocol using supplements like CellCore Para 1, a toxin binder, and a bowel mover. However, after a month or two, I felt no relief. I was miserable, experiencing nightly gastric pain and irregular bowel movements. I was depressed and discouraged. After doing my own research I realized I was making myself more toxic due to the parasite die off and lack of bowel movements.

Realizing this, I focused on stress management, detoxification and opening my drainage pathways. I incorporated Dr. Schulze's Formula Intestinal 1 and visited a colon hydrotherapist at Divine Colonics .After each session, I noticed immediate improvements in digestion and decreased inflammation. I also added coffee enemas to support detoxification.

Simultaneously, I utilized ionic foot baths to eliminate toxins and received chiropractic adjustments three times a week to support my nervous system, and monthly acupuncture.

The Turning Point: Detox and Healing

After six months of dedicated detoxing and opening my drainage pathways, I finally experienced the release of parasites and mucoid plaque. My mood shifted dramatically, and I felt like I was living again. The journey had been long and challenging, but I had learned valuable lessons about the importance of sequencing detox protocols and addressing underlying health issues.

Reflecting on my experience, I realized that many of these symptoms are often overlooked by healthcare providers. In many countries, regular parasite cleanses are standard practice, yet they are seldom discussed in the United States. As a nervous system-focused chiropractor who has experienced this firsthand, I believe everyone should consider periodic parasite cleanses.

A New Beginning

Recently, some of my symptoms have returned. However, the knowledge and experience I've gained have enabled me to get back on track in less than a month. I plan to openly share this new experience with you all on social media, hoping to inspire and support others on their health journeys.

If you're experiencing unexplained health issues, know that you're not alone. With the right approach and support, healing is possible. I didn’t realize until much later how much this impacted personal relationships. Don’t be afraid to share this with those around you. My lack of communication I felt damaged some close relationship and it’s something I wish I would have done differently.
